Determining Eligibility
In these focus areas, 3Mgives seeks to invest in evidence-based community partners and programs that use innovative approaches to solving problems for underserved communities globally.
- In St. Paul, Minn., and Austin, Texas, proposals are by invitation only.
- In all other 3M U.S. communities, send a letter of inquiry to the local facility addressed to 3M Plant Manager.
- Outside the U.S., direct requests to the 3M office in that country.
Criteria
Criteria is the same for cash and product donations in communities where 3M has a facility. Most product donations are invited through 3M Supplies4Schools and 3M Supplies4Nonprofits programs. All other product donations are for projects with a minimum value of $1,000.

The following organizations are not eligible for support:
- Individuals
- For-profit
- Disease-related
- Government agencies
- Hospitals, clinics or nursing homes
- Treatment centers or hospice programs
- Religious, fraternal or social

The following activities are not eligible for support:
- Athletics
- Advocacy and lobbying efforts to influence legislation
- Conferences, seminars, workshops or publications of their proceedings
- Endowments
- Film/video production
- Fundraising, testimonial, athletic and special events
- Playground or athletic equipment
- Travel

If you were notified by a 3M employee or retiree that he/she donated dollars or time, click on the match type below to verify. To verify a gift, you will leave the 3M site and be directed to Cybergrants, our authorized matching programs software provider.
