Highlights
  • Unique 3M Cold Shrink delivery system ensures fast, straightforward and consistent installation without compromising long term reliability
  • No special tools, heat or site permits are required to install Cold Shrink, making it well suited for in-field applications
  • Constant radial pressure for optimised environmental performance
  • No flame required means there is less chance of damamging the cable material
  • Seals tight, and retains its resiliency and pressure even after prolonged years of aging and exposure
  • Fast, straightforward installation
  • Environmental sealing for communication and other non-electrical applications

3M Cold Shrink Insulators offer a safe, easy to install method of insulating, sealing and protecting connectors, cable, hoses, fittings and conduit. The EPDM rubber insulators are supplied pre-stretched on a removable core. Removal of the core (unwinding) after positioning the splice allows the product to shrink into position forming a moisture tight seal.

The live memory action of the specially formulated material provides a permanent, durable environmental seal and insulation, with an operating temperature range of -40⁰C to 90⁰C.

Suggested applications
  • Primary electrical insulation for all solid dielectric (rubber and plastic) insulated wire and cable splicing rated to 1000 volts
  • Good for repairs and environmental sealing for communication and other non-electrical applications
  • Ideal for sealing wireless communication tower connections and exposed coaxial interfaces
  • Suitable for indoor, outdoor, underground and submerged applications
