    In this episode host Mark Reggers discusses the SafeWork NSW 2017-2022 Hazardous Chemicals and Materials exposures baseline and reduction Strategy with guest Meagan McCool. Meagan is the Director of Hazardous Chemical Facilities and Safety Management Audits at SafeWork NSW.

    There are a multitude of hazardous chemicals of various forms used in the workplace that can cause illnesses such: as cancer, respiratory disease and skin and eye irritations, as well as death and permanent disabilities from fire and explosion related injuries. However, with the correct control mechanisms in place, exposure to dangerous chemicals are preventable, ensuring healthy, safe and productive workplaces.

    Meagan McCool (pictured left) is the Director of Hazardous Chemical Facilities and Safety Management Audits (HCF&SMA) at SafeWork NSW. She has 20 years of experience in the NSW Public Service across a range of portfolios from Dangerous Goods, Explosives, Major Hazard Facilities, Self-insurers and High Risk Plant & Equipment at SafeWork NSW; to Builders & Tradespeople, Consumers, Tenants and Traders at NSW Fair Trading.

    Meagan also recently returned from a secondment to the Commerce Regulation Program, a key NSW Government initiative to make it easier to start, and stay, in business in NSW by improving the customer experience of those who need to navigate through the many regulating agencies.
